Parabolic Screens

Parabolic Screens

Static parabolic screens find their origin in the mining industry for the separation of dry particles.
At the present most applications are in solid-liquid separation of granulates, fibers, organic material etc.
The separation principle is based on a peeling mechanism. The wedge wire screen built from profiled metal wire stands at a 90° angle to the direction of the liquid and the flat side of the wire under an angle of about 60°.
This results in a separation of the liquid from the solids, letting the solids slide down by gravity. The separating efficiency is about half the slot width. On the frontside a collector catches the solids. When the solids are heavy or sticky the separating mechanism can be assisted by a vibrating motor, spay nozzles and or a brush mechanism.
The device is made out of SS304.
